Donna Teleis was born in Aiken, South Carolina. She moved to Wilmington, Delaware, with her family in 1966, where she still lives and does her artwork in a basement studio. Most of Donna's training has been in the form of attendance at various workshops and evening classes. Ms. Teleis has attended classes at the Center for Creative Arts in Hockessin, Delaware, and has also traveled to workshops at the American Academy of Equine Art in Lexington, Kentucky. Donna did spend one year as an Art major at the University of Delaware, before switching to a diiferent area of interest.
While her main interest is the Equine image, Donna has also been commissioned to paint portraits of pets and of homes. While Donna's painting style tends to realism, she likes to show the viewer the amazing and unexpected variety of colors in each subject.
